Shawndra is out of ICU! The epidural will remain to control pain. I'm back at work today. Getting ready to pick up Ella at daycare. She hasn't seen mommy since Sunday morning, so we're going to eat dinner and head over to the hospital.

This will be a short post, since I need to run. I'm hoping Shawndra can BLOG soon from the hospital. Thanks everyone for your support.

Oh, I may post some photos, video, etc. tonight after Ella goes to sleep. I have a feeling I'll be doing that work in bed, while she falls asleep by my side. :)

Doug,
That is wonderful news for your family - that Shawndra is out of ICU, that her pain is controlled, that Ella gets to see her mommmy. That will definitely be a cure for Shawndra's boredom! After your performance, she may not make that complaint again! Actually, it's really nice you could make her smile. I hope you enjoy a peaceful night with Ella by your side after visiting the hospital. She deserves to get some special treatment, right? As you said, Ella needs her Daddy right now; but also, Daddy needs Ella. Give your precious girls big hugs!

Really, is there any better medicine than Shawndra seeing the smile of Ella?!?

I pray everyday morning and every day for ALL of you. There are so many of us out here....I cant help but think that your family will receive a miracle.

YEAH! Looking forward to seeing new pic's, and REALLY glad to hear that Shawndra is out of ICU. Hunker down and snuggle up, it's cold outside!

So glad to hear that. Enjoy your visit and your night with Ella. I know my husband did that quite a bit with our daughter when I spent time in the Antepartum unit and she sleeps just fine on her own now too. Sometimes the two of you just need each other and that is what matters. Thoughts and prayers for you all.

Yes, Shawndra did get the nickname, Sharky, after her first ice show. She actually had a little spotlight featured in a group performance where they were all dressed up like sharks - hysterical!! She was actually on tv that night doing her little "solo". So, we have a true celeb on our hands!! Beth-I'd love to see that video!
Thanks to the masses of you who continue to pray and support our Shawndra and our families, we are so fortunate to be lifted up during this troubled time in the journey. May God bless each of you as He has blessed us!

(Shawndra's sister)

MY thoughts and prayers are with you Shawndra, Doug and Ella.... Trust me.... there will be a day when Miss Ella thinks it is silly to sleep with her daddy or mommy, so enjoy it while it lasts... they grow up too fast... I pray for your pain to remain under control and that you can go home soon to enjoy your family time.

Fantastic news!

Our family rejoices with you.

Step by step, as her father always said while we were in Kansas City.
You'll be back home soon.
We keep on praying for you.

Hope for a prolonged recovery and pain free Shwandra, so Ella and Doug, besides Andrea, Gary and Carol, can enjoy being with you at your cozy home.

It's cold in Florida, too.

Hugs
Roswita, Marcus, Rainer and Carla
