Round two- knocked down

Hi Everyone- Just wanted to let you know round two went much better than round one. I didn't get sick that day in front of everyone, yaaa! I did, however, feel nauseous yesterday most of the day and really tired (in bed before 8pm) last night. I am doing much better today though, I got my pump taken off so I am free for another week and a half.

I want to thank all of you who have made comments under the posts, it is great to receive them from you all. I cherish your comments and wish I could return an email to you all, but know that I appreciate each and every one of you who read my blog and/or send your comment.

I also want to point out that next to my posts there is another site named "Jennifer Ireland". She is a girl I recently heard about who was battling the same type of cancer I have. I read her whole blog. If you are interested in hearing her story, feel free to go to her website. Her husband recently posted my website on her blog as well. She is an inspiration to me as I know she has been to everyone who read her site.

So as you see, I am doing well. Just same old stuff, watching ella run all over and talk her own language (my mom says she is speaking German), laundry, dishes, all that fun day to day stuff. I guess that's part of livin'.

talk to you all soon. shawndra

I found your blog on the Jennifer Ireland blog website. I am sorry for your diagnosis but it looks like you have a good support group around you, which is very important. I will follow your blog and pray for you and your family. Thank you for sharing your life experience with all of us. God Bless!

I think we went to graduate school together. I found your site because I grew up with Jennifer Ireland. I checked out your site when her husband posted it.

Did you go to UMKC?

Know that I am praying for you.

Shawndra,

Keep strong and know that beating this disease is possible. I too was diagnosed last year with stage IV cc and at the moment have the upper hand in the battle. Stay positive,

Hey Little Lady,
I heard Doug was a little shocked by the 14 year-old you...good thing he didn't know us when we were 6! ;) I hope we can continue our conversation again soon & pick a good weekend.
I stayed up until 2am Monday morning reading Jennifer's blog. The support she and her family have received left me speechless. I'm so happy to see your support circles are merging. Even though a lot of these people have never met you, I feel like each and every one is an angel, standing guard over you. As your friend, I am grateful for all of them.
Miss you and can't wait to hug you soon.
Love, d

I live in your neighborhood (right behind the pool). Hopefully when the weather warms up and more people start emerging from their homes we will meet. I've heard so many wonderfull things about you and Doug. I think about you daily and hope you are feeling good. You have a beautiful smile and a darling little girl. Please know you have a lot of people thinking about you and your family. I'm glad you started this blog so we can keep informed. Take good care of yourself.
