Staying steady

Hey everyone- Well I got my CEA done this week. It is about the same as last time, around 17, so I guess that is good that it is atleast not getting higher, but staying steady. I thought I was getting another urinary infection but had it tested today and there wasn't. It must be that darn ureteral stent bothering me, ugh! I am going to check that out with my urologist. Nothing else to report. I hope everyone has a great weekend! Ours, as always, is going to be eventful! Talk to you all soon. Love, shawndra

The picture sledding is adorable, what little snowbunnies! Skiing will be the next step. Happy to hear all is staying steady and not rising. Hopefully this is what you need to have ahppening to move forward with other prcedures. Busy weekends are the norm I think, so those few times we all ahve nothing going on are to be savored. Peace and Love until next time.

shawndra, i just got caught up after a couple of weeks away. your daughter has a wonderful mother and no matter what the future brings you are preparing her for life by being strong, showing hope and making everyday count. My husband has cancer too and we have 3 very young kids, we can't think too far in the future as it is too scary, we hear 5yr survival rates that are bleak at best, but so many leaps and advances are happening every month there is always hope.
when i look at the odds of beating this beast, I remember our odds of his getting it were like 1 in 100,000 so the odds of beating it are better than having gotten it in the first place. I know that seems to lessen the situation which isnt my intent its just something i think about when i get scared of stats.
I am actually having dinner this weekend with a friend who is stage 4 for 8 years and was told 8 years ago he could count in months. He is still fighting the cancer one day at a time, but he is here.
I think you of you and your family regularly.
Love and Prayers your way -

Shawndra, I got a little nervous when I first opened your blog and "CEA" caught my eye. I was hoping it was good news. And actually, I think it is. I know you want it to go down to normal. We all do. But it's not going higher. That has to be good news. So it's good to hear it.

Sounds like you had a fun New Years. It's always good to get together with friends and get a little silly. May you have many more good times with those you care about in the New Year.

The picture of Ella is so cute. Doesn't look like she'll be able to sled for a while now though. The thaw is nice. But it sure is muddy and salty. Hopefully we'll get a little shower soon to clean it all off, then some dry days to dry up the mud. We have an indoor/outdoor dog (mostly indoor) and it's no fun having to clean paws before he can come back in after going out.

I've had a busy weekend so far too. My youngest daughter had a basketball game today. Her team lost. :-( Tonight hubby and I went to the New Theatre Restaurant with another couple to see "Out of Order" with Gary Sandy (Andy Travis from WKRP in Cincinnati). It was hilarous and I would highly recommend it.

Have a good week. As always, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Take care!
