Life is Good

Do you ever have those days that are so nice that you just feel like everything is wonderful? I guess it has been one of those days or weeks. I hope you all experience this, it is a great feeling.

Round four of chemo therapy is tomorrow. I hope it goes as well as last time. I did well. Only a little bit of tingly fingers for the first few days otherwise no other major side effects. We had a grrrrreaaatt weekend. I love weekends. Doug is home and now that the weather is nice, we can get outside. Ahhhh. We had some neighbors and family over for the KU game last night. The game didn't end well, but some of the guys got over it quickly with just a touch of whisky, hehe. It was a good time. We got our patio furniture put together, so now we can have dinner outside on the patio, another one of my favorite things.

Ella still has her cast, our neighbor Brandi did a nice design on it with a butterfly. It is very cute. We will see the orthopedic doctor this week to see if the cast can be removed. It doesn't seem to bother her though, so it hasn't been too bad.

Thank you to you all who signed up for the Crawl for Cancer. It sounds like there is going to be a great turnout. I read Jennifer Ireland's blog tonight. Apparently there is at least 170 participants participants on her team. That is incredible! I am proud to be a member of the team.

I hope everyone has a good week. Spring break is over and all the teachers and kids are heading back to school. Good luck this week, especially to all the teachers.

Shawndra,
You are SUCH an inspiration to many people. I was always asking Julie how you were doing so she directed me to your blog. I love how your sense of humor and personality shines through your writings. Thanks for helping me remember that each day is a gift. We are praying for you EVERY DAY!!

Good luck tomorrow! I am still praying for you. Sorry the game didn't turn out the way you wanted. We only watched a part of the game but it looked like a good game. :)
Keep smiling and know that Kansas City is praying for you!!

Hi friend! You sound so good! It makes me want to get on a plane and come home so we can have another spa day or go shopping or watch some E! or just sit on the couch and watch some TV and watch Ella run around. I wanted to sign up for the Crawl for Cancer but I won't know my weekend until April 9th so I guess I'll have my own crawl in SD that day. Hope chemo goes well tomorrow. Everyone that writes about your smile and humor and personality, etc shining through on your blog is soooo right! Talk to you soon!

Oh yeah-I actually got to watch parts of the game yesterday since no one else was playing at the same time so I may have jinxed it-sorry!

Hi Shawndra! I found your blog through Jennifer Irelands site. I am happy to see you are feeling great. We would all be feeling better if the Hawks were in the Final 4. :) Just wanted to know you have another person out there praying for your health and happiness. Have a great week!!

Shawndra, you indeed are an inspiration to many people who are going through similar experiences and ones who are not. You keep up the good thoughts, trust in the Lord and your doctors to heal you and stay strong for that little Ella Bella. She needs you and you need her. Doug, this is a hard time for you also. Being strong for someone you love sometimes can be trying, but with the Lord's help and strength you can be there for your family. The only thing to remember take time for yourself to recharge yourself for that strength. You and your family are indeed amazing.

My love and prayers to you, Shawndra and family.
