Go KU

Hey Everyone- I hope you all had a great weekend. It seemed busy, even though I can hardly remember what we did. I know we watched KU beat Tex-ass (that's for my cousin Mark) in basketball, yaaaa! Here is Ella taking her baby and Lily the frog to watch the game.

I had a busy day today. I had my weekly blood draw. My general labs looked good, nothing concerning. I met with my surgeon. She was hopeful that the chemo could remove the cancer, but unfortunately she did not recommend removing the ostomy yet. She seemed to think I would be miserable if I had it reversed before chemo was over. So, to my dismay, I have to hang on to it for at least another 4-6 months. UGH!!! Oh well, it could be worse, right!

I had my big interview today. Thank you Brandi and Jenny for helping pick out my attire. And thanks Pam for the fabulous job on my hair. I looked so glam! I lucked out and did not have to cook anything. I think they got the hint that I could not cook so they just interviewed me about my story and filmed me, my friend Angie, and my mom playing with Ella. There's no definite air date yet, but they'll let me know. I'll keep everyone posted.

Well that is all for now. Just wanted to keep everyone updated. It is warming up so Ella and I are able to get outside some and play. She loves it. Thanks Ang for spending the day with Ella and me. Fun times at the Cancer Center, isn't it.

Ella is so beautiful. However the KU attire needs to be replaced with MU tigers. Thinking of you and your family often.

Shawndra, maybe you can put your tv video on YouTube, so us cuzins down in Tex-ass can see it :)

I think those child life girls need to rethink who they are writing to! ;-) Thank YOU for spending the day with me! I am so lucky to have a friend like you. I also loved my time with Ella-that girl never fails to brighten my day! Thanks for taking me to the cancer center-I'm glad I got to see where you are and I wish I could be there more. I miss you guys already! I think your cousin is right about that YouTube thing-does Oprah watch it? ;-)

I found your site through Jennifer Ireland's website. Her cousin is a close friend of mine and I have followed her blog since her diagnosis in January 2006. You and your family will remain in my thoughts & prayers.

Hey Shawndra, what a great site! It's almost like having you here with us at work. Maybe Doug can add your chuckle as a sound effect. You're looking great and I'm glad you're feeling better through this round of chemo. Can't wait to see you starring on TV. I hope you'll have autographed photos for your fans.
KU all the way! My thoughts and prayers are with you. Heather

Ella is so young yet she has such great taste in collages! I am following your blog. You remain in my thoughts and prayers. I can tell you are kicking butt and taking names OR (to be read with a British accent) "booting hindquarters and scribing monikers".
:-D
Beak em, 'Hawks!

What a great site and a great idea! I think of calling you but I never want to intrude on your life and time. Thanks for being so open to share with everyone and enlighten everyone about your cancer.

I love your message about God creating each one for a special message. Blessings on you. Pam Hillman
