Sorry for the delay in posting. Yes, Shawndra made it home a few days before Christmas, and was able to enjoy all the holiday festivities. The day before Christmas, Santa made a personal visit to Ella's house (thanks JJ for arranging that experience for Ella & Shawndra). She was so excited!
The Turner family has been laying pretty low at home the last week or so. Shawndra had an outpatient procedure today to change out the G-Tube to an easier-to-manage type.
Shawndra has mentioned wanting to post, but hasn't had much time to do so between all the resting and doctors visits.

So glad to hear Christmas was fun for you all! Hope you are able to relax and enjoy the beginning of 2009 this evening!
Thanks for updating us on you guys. I am so grateful you were able to enjoy CHRISTmas with your family and Shawndra being home of course. Continuing to pray for you guys.
Glad to hear you were able to have Christmas at home. I hope you are feeling better and will be back home quickly after this procedure. Thinking of you often and praying always,
Melody
Shawndra and Doug and Family, thanks for the update because I know everyone has been checking lots like I have to see how Shawndra is doing. I ran into Chris Ireland today and we both were hoping for a wonderful holiday for you all. This is such an emotional time for each of you in your own way and you have so many little miracles to hold on to. You are such an incredible family and all of the love and support you have received is because of what you all have given back in telling your story. Miracles are my prayer for your New Year along with holding each other tightly and realizing the gift of knowing how much you love each other. Some people don't get that in a lifetime. So many happy wishes for you all. Melodie Chrisman
Thanks Doug for the update, so glad to hear you all were together for the holidays!!!
Get lots of rest Shawndra!
Happy New Years Eve, may 2009 be a blessed year for us all!
Stay warm :)

Please give Shawndra my best. We were Alpha Phi's together at Drake and her blog was passed on to a few of us. I am so sadden to hear all of this news, while also so lifted that there are so many wonderful people close by and supporting her. Sending the warmest new year's wishes, Molly Vaile '99
It's so wonderful to have an update. Glad the procedure went well. God knew how much you guys needed to be together for Christmas! May your 2009 be full of miracles and quality time together. You're always in my prayers. God bless.
The thrill of seeing Ella meeting Santa must have been great. But the thrill of having her Mommy at home with her to share that is even greater. You tell her not to worry about posts, it is so much more important to share her time with you, Ella and the rest of the family. Hope 2009 brings all that you deserve.
I'm so glad to hear you could all enjoy Christmas together.
Your family continues to be in my prayers.
Julie
I just learned of Shawdra's illness and have been so inspired by all of the blogs posted. I went to Shawnee Mission East with her...its been several years since we've seen each other but wanted to pass on that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you and your beautiful daughter and that 2009 be filled with love and family! I will continue praying for all of you! Please know how wonderful it is to see the love that surrounds your family!
